Requests for Mourners to Line Highway 99W to Honor Deceased Police Officer on Tuesday

On Tuesday, a motorcade will pass through Newberg to honor city resident and Beaverton police officer Brian Gaunt.

Tomorrow, Tuesday November 2nd, a motorcade will pass through Newberg via Highway 99W from 4:15 PM to 5:00 PM. The motorcade will pass through Newberg to honor city resident and Beaverton police officer Brian Gaunt.

Supporters are asked to line both sides of Portland Road (99W) between Springbrook Road and Village Road. It is requested to bring American and Blue Line flags, as well as any signs of condolence.

According to the press release, On Sunday, October 24, 2021, Sergeant Brian Gaunt of the Beaverton Police Department passed away from COVID related complications. Sergeant Brian Gaunt was a 21-year veteran of the Beaverton Police Department. Sergeant Brian Gaunt worked as patrol officer, detective and K9 handler during his time at the Beaverton Police Department.

Sergeant Brian Gaunt was promoted to sergeant in 2019 and was assigned to the
Community Services Division at the time of his passing.

Sergeant Brian Gaunt is survived by his wife and three children.
